Provides triangulations of regular height fields, based on the methods described in "Fast Polygonal Approximation of Terrains and Height Fields" Michael Garland and Paul S. Heckbert (1995) https://www.mgarland.org/files/papers/scape.pdf using code from the 'hmm' library written by Michael Fogleman https://github.com/fogleman/hmm.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from tylermorganwall/terrainmeshr. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-terrainmeshr

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
