Wraps the 'nametag' library https://github.com/ufal/nametag, allowing users to find and extract entities (names, persons, locations, addresses, ...) in raw text and build your own entity recognition models. Based on a maximum entropy Markov model which is described in Strakova J., Straka M. and Hajic J. (2013) https://ufal.mff.cuni.cz/~straka/papers/2013-tsd_ner.pdf.

Install

install.packages("nametagger", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from bnosac/nametagger. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-nametagger

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
