Comprehensively identifying states and state-like actors is difficult. This package provides data on states and state-like entities in the international system across time. The package combines and cross-references several existing datasets consistent with the aims and functions of the manydata package. It also includes functions for identifying state references in text, and for generating fictional state names.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from globalgov/manystates. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-manystates

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
