Fair machine learning regression models which take sensitive attributes into account in model estimation. Currently implementing Komiyama et al. (2018) http://proceedings.mlr.press/v80/komiyama18a/komiyama18a.pdf, Zafar et al. (2019) https://www.jmlr.org/papers/volume20/18-262/18-262.pdf and my own approach from Scutari, Panero and Proissl (2022) doi:10.1007/s11222-022-10143-w that uses ridge regression to enforce fairness.

Install

install.packages("fairml", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-fairml

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
