The concept of Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBV, https://geobon.org/ebvs/what-are-ebvs/) comes with a data structure based on the Network Common Data Form (netCDF). The 'ebvcube' 'R' package provides functionality to easily create, access and visualise this data. The EBV netCDFs can be downloaded from the EBV Data Portal: Christian Langer/ iDiv (2020) https://portal.geobon.org/.

Install

R (CRAN)pak (dev)Ubuntu (r2u)

install.packages("ebvcube", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from EBVCube/ebvcube. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
