Syntax highlighting of R code, specifically designed for the needs of 'RMarkdown' packages like 'pkgdown', 'hugodown', and 'bookdown'. It includes linking of function calls to their documentation on the web, and automatic translation of ANSI escapes in output to the equivalent HTML.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from r-lib/downlit. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.
