A small subset of Unicode symbols, that are useful when building command line applications. They fall back to alternatives on terminals that do not support Unicode. Many symbols were taken from the 'figures' 'npm' package (see https://github.com/sindresorhus/figures).

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from gaborcsardi/clisymbols. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-clisymbols

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
