Google's Compact Language Detector 3 is a neural network model for language identification and the successor of 'cld2' (available from CRAN). The algorithm is still experimental and takes a novel approach to language detection with different properties and outcomes. It can be useful to combine this with the Bayesian classifier results from 'cld2'. See https://github.com/google/cld3#readme for more information.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from ropensci/cld3. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-cld3

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
