To improve estimation accuracy and stability in statistical modeling, catalytic prior distributions are employed, integrating observed data with synthetic data generated from a simpler model's predictive distribution. This approach enhances model robustness, stability, and flexibility in complex data scenarios. The catalytic prior distributions are introduced by 'Huang et al.' (2020, doi:10.1073/pnas.1920913117), Li and Huang (2023, doi:10.48550/arXiv.2312.01411).

Install

install.packages("catalytic", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

ls /etc/yum.repos.d/*iucar*cran*.repo >/dev/null 2>&1 \
  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-catalytic

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
