Provides function declarations and inline function definitions that facilitate communication between R and the 'Armadillo' 'C++' library for linear algebra and scientific computing. This implementation is derived from Vargas Sepulveda and Schneider Malamud (2024) doi:10.1016/j.softx.2025.102087.

Install

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from pachadotdev/armadillo4r. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Release

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

  || sudo dnf copr enable -y iucar/cran
sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-armadillo4r

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
