Provides functions for testing phylogenetic niche conservatism, a key prerequisite in community assembly studies. The package integrates global functional trait data across major taxonomic groups and implements methods such as Pagel's Lambda and Blomberg's K to quantify phylogenetic signals in ecological communities. Methods are described in Münkemüller et al. (2012) doi:10.1111/j.2041-210X.2012.00196.x.

Install

install.packages("PNC", repos = "https://cloud.r-project.org/")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf install -y R-CRAN-PNC

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

For install.packages() integration in R, also: sudo dnf install R-CoprManager
