Provides functions to access data from public RESTful APIs including 'Nager.Date', 'World Bank API', and 'REST Countries API', retrieving real-time or historical data related to Japan, such as holidays, economic indicators, and international demographic and geopolitical indicators. Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Development version from lightbluetitan/japanapis. Installs pak first if it is not already available.

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). The cranapt setup runs once and is skipped when it is already enabled.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make
