This is a collection of functions for converting coordinates between WGS84UTM, WGS84GEO, HK80UTM, HK80GEO and HK1980GRID Coordinate Systems used in Hong Kong SAR, based on the algorithms described in Explanatory Notes on Geodetic Datums in Hong Kong by Survey and Mapping Office Lands Department, Hong Kong Government (1995).

Install

R (CRAN)Ubuntu (r2u)Fedora (COPR)openSUSE (OBS)

install.packages("HK80")

Installs the current CRAN release. Prebuilt binaries on Windows and macOS.

Release

# one-time r2u setup for Ubuntu (noble)

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/eddelbuettel/r2u/master/inst/scripts/add_cranapt_noble.sh | sudo bash

# then install

sudo apt install r-cran-hk80

Fast Ubuntu binaries via r2u (no compilation). Run the setup once per machine.

bspm (used by r2u) also needs make: sudo apt install make

sudo dnf copr enable iucar/cran

sudo dnf install R-CRAN-HK80

RPMs from the iucar/cran COPR, rebuilt from CRAN.

sudo zypper install R-HK80

RPMs auto-built from CRAN on openSUSE OBS.
